About Me
Dr. Sara Press is a SSHRC-funded postdoctoral fellow in Harvard’s Department of the History of Science. She completed her PhD in English Literature and Science and Technology Studies at the University of British Columbia, where she remains a UBC Public Scholar. Her work sits at the intersection of Rhetoric of Health and Medicine, History of Medicine, Science and Technology Studies, Postcolonial Theory, and Literary Theory. Her research examines racialized and gendered health inequalities in North American society through rhetorical, historical, and literary approaches. Her articles have been published in Rhetoric of Health and Medicine, History of Pharmacy and Pharmaceuticals, and Humanities. She has been a contributing writer at Columbia University’s online health humanities journal, Synapsis, since 2019.
